About Me
Hello! I’m Mandy Holliday, a Senior at Miami University pursuing a double major in Professional Writing and Media & Communications. My passion lies in storytelling, writing, and creating meaningful connections through media and communication.
Throughout my academic journey, I’ve gained a variety of experiences that have laid the foundation for my professional growth. As the Student Communications Associate for Miami University’s College of Engineering and Computing, I craft articles for the university’s website, design engaging graphics for academic spaces, and manage content for social media platforms. This role allows me to merge my love for writing with creative design, producing work that informs and inspires.
Beyond campus, I broadened my global perspective during a semester abroad in Luxembourg, where I interned with Ukrainian Action, a non-governmental organization committed to impactful change. My work involved strategizing action plans, deepening my understanding of nonprofit communications and my ability to manage detail-oriented projects.
Academically, I’ve been recognized for excellence through multiple honors, including two placements on the Dean’s List, four on the President’s List, and receiving the Introduction to Media and Culture Achievement Award. Additionally, I honed my leadership and public speaking skills as a Teaching Assistant for a 250+ student media course.
Outside of academics, I bring valuable interpersonal and organizational skills from my experiences as a store manager and barista, which have taught me the value of adaptability and customer-focused communication.
As I prepare for life beyond graduation, I’m eager to channel my skills into writing, publishing, and communications roles that challenge me creatively and intellectually. Whether through crafting compelling narratives, designing dynamic content, or managing impactful projects, I am driven to make a meaningful contribution to every endeavor I pursue.
